ZendoME, a Zen Buddhist Sangha

Welcome to ZendoME Sangha, a Zen Buddhist community nestled in Damariscotta, Maine. ZendoME stems from the word, Zendo: the sacred space in which we gather to practice, grow and connect with one another. ME, stands for Maine.

ZendoME offers Zen(dhyana) training through zazen meditation, the morning service, dharma talks, the Mondo Zen process, daisan(one-on-one consults) and book study. This growing community will contribute to creating a new world, a world of love and caring, defended and ordered.

ZendoME also points to the sacredness of our own lives, it’s interconnectedness and interdependence on all of life, and the realization of our own buddha-nature. This practice offers us the opportunity to cultivate of our own compassionate wisdom in the midst of what is arising in our lives in this moment.

Join us on the first and third Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. at 25 Reny Road in Damariscotta, the cottage on Biscay Orchards. Feel free to reach out to Jimon at 401.500.5990 or don@donsorterup.com with any inquiries into our practice.

Mission Statement:

We are a sacred order bringing into being a harmonious and loving world, through the practice of meditative, compassionate awareness and mindful stewardship.
